How Tile Shift works

The board is generated in the browser and validated against the protocol rules after each move. No network request is needed to create or solve a round. Restart creates a clean state without reloading the page, and optional records remain on this device.

Accessibility and devices

The game uses visible text feedback in addition to color. Controls are keyboard-focusable, touch targets are at least 44 pixels, and motion is reduced when your system requests it.

Protocol notes

Is every shuffle solvable?+

Yes. Each board is created by legal moves from the solved state.

Can I undo?+

There is no undo, but a new solvable board is one tap away.
